Housing Allocation Scheme
Allocation Policy Review
From October to December 2022, we consulted on a new Allocation Policy, which was approved by our Executive on the 12 October 2023.
We plan to launch the new policy later in 2024. During this transition, we'll review all current applicants to ensure the information we hold is accurate and up to date. We will also write to all applicants detailing how the new policy may affect their current application.

Allocations Review 2018
We undertook a review of our housing allocations scheme that was implemented on 1 June 2018.
The initial feedback has resulted in some changes to our Housing Allocation Policy along with our Under-occupation Policy.
We will continue to monitor the scheme and further changes will be made as necessary.
The changes implemented so far include:
- Under-occupiers of Social Housing will now receive a priority banding and be able to bid on smaller properties through Choice Based Lettings.
- The Local Connection has been amended from the last 5 years to 5 years out of the last 7 years.
- Non-dependent children (over 18 years old) can now be considered as part of the household.
