Heritage

As part of the evidence base to inform our emerging Local Plan, we have assessed a number of potential development sites within the Strategic Land Availability Assessment (SLAA). The SLAA identifies sites that are suitable, available and achievable for development, in simplistic terms, without taking into account other policy considerations.

Conservation

Planning applications within conservation areas require Conservation Area Consent.

Conservation Areas

Stevenage has seven conservation areas. These have been designated due to their particular historic or architectural significance.

Development proposals, within, or affecting a conservation area should have regard to the guidance provided by the relevant Conservation Area Management Plan Supplementary Planning Document.

Conservation Area Management Plans

Conservation Area Management Plans provide guidance to enable the effective management of change and secure the preservation and enhancement of the character of the conservation areas.
