Daneshill Car park
Daneshill car park will be closed for one week from 15 July until 22 July 2024 to enable the installation of new barriers, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera systems and a new pay station under the ramp.
The new system will be the same as that installed previously at St George’s Way and the award winning, Railway North Multi-Storey car parks providing a more efficient parking experience for customers.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our car parking facilities.
While the Daneshill car park is closed for these upgrades it is advisable to park in either Swingate, Westgate or St. George’s Way Multi-Storey car parks. You can find a list of other alternative parking and more information on the Find a Car Park web page.
These ANPR systems are simple to operate and if you’re a frequent user, it may be easier to apply for a season ticket.
Councillor Lloyd Briscoe, Cabinet Member – Economy, Skills and Transport said: “Providing convenient car parking is really important to everyone living, working and visiting Stevenage. We’re working hard to upgrade the systems in our car parks to Automatic Number Plate Recognition, providing a more efficient service for our customers. Please bear with us while the Daneshill car park is closed so these enhancements can be completed.”
Have you heard of Park Mark?
There are also a few car parks within Stevenage which are Park Mark accredited. This means they’re of a good standard and helps us to ensure that everyone using these facilities realises that they can leave their vehicles with the confidence that they will be safe and secure until they return.
