Free event on Saturday 21 March, 10am to 4:30pm

Tattoo artist Barra Badlands will be holding a foraging and mark making workshop on 21 March at Stevenage museum as part of upcoming exhibition Folk Lorg.

In the morning we will go out on a guided walk to explore the flora and fauna of Stevenage. We will be foraging botanicals to bring back to the museum for an afternoon of painting, drawing, printing and mark making - inspired by and using the wildlife of Stevenage.

This will be a free workshop, some basic materials will be available at the museum but if you have favourite materials to work with please do bring them along.

Schedule

10am to 12 noon: Guided walk through Stevenage’s green spaces. Time to collect botanicals, draw, or take leaf rubbings for making into pieces in the afternoon.

12 noon to 1:30pm: Lunch

1:30 to 4:30pm: art workshop in the museum. This will be a time to make and create from what we found and saw in the morning. Barra will be on hand to guide and suggest if anyone wants this, but otherwise it will be a time for unguided artistic exploration.
