Appeals

Although there is no statutory requirement for Environmental Fixed Penalty Notices to have any form of appeal procedure in place, Stevenage Borough Council operate a process in which you may contest this fine.

If you do not believe you should have to pay this Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice, you must provide your reasons for appeal, in writing, to the Environmental Performance Manager, Stevenage Borough Council, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 1HN.

You must appeal within 14-days from the date of issue.

In addition, you have the right to have your case heard in a Magistrates’ Court.

Failure to pay

Failing to pay this Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice may make you liable to conviction for the offence.

Call 01438 242242, Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 5.30pm. Credit/Debit card payments only. You should have the Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice details ready.

By post

Cheque or postal order payable to 'Stevenage Borough Council'. Include your Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice (or a copy) and send to, Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice Payments, Revenues, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 1HN

In person

Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm using the automatic paying in point at the Customer Service Centre on Danestrete.
