Fixed penalty notices of between £75 and £400 can be issued for dropping litter, graffiti, failing to clean-up dog fouling and abandoning vehicles.

Appeals

Although there is no statutory requirement for Environmental Fixed Penalty Notices to have any form of appeal procedure in place, Stevenage Borough Council operate a process in which you may contest this fine.

If you do not believe you should have to pay an Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice, you must provide your reasons for appeal, in writing to:

You must appeal within 14-days from the date of issue.

In addition, you have the right to have your case heard in a Magistrates’ Court.

Failure to pay

Failing to pay this Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice may make you liable to conviction for the offence.

Cheque or postal order payable to 'Stevenage Borough Council'. Include your Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice (or a copy) and send to:
