Food Waste Caddy Deliveries and Trial
New food waste collection service
The new, separate, weekly food waste collection service starts on Monday, 2 March.
Container delivery schedule
All caddies should now have been delivered to residental households with deliveries to flats being carried out this week.
Please do not place your food waste containers out for collection before your first collection week, starting 2 March 2026.
Use the link below if you're not sure when your next refuse or recycling collection is.
If you have not received your food waste containers, or have another issue with them, you can report it to us. Please note, if we have not completed deliveries in your area yet, you will not be able to make a report.
What you will receive
Each household will receive two food waste containers:
- 5L Indoor Kitchen Caddy
For collecting food waste inside your home. - 23L Outdoor Caddy
Transfer your indoor caddy waste into this larger bin. It will be emptied weekly by our collection crews.
Flats that currently have shared communal bins for refuse and recycling, will receive a shared wheeled bin for food waste. All flats will receive an individual kitchen caddy.
For more information on the new food waste service please visit the 'Food Waste Collection' page.
If your food waste caddy looks a little misshapen, our supplier has advised this can happen when caddies are stacked during delivery. Please store your caddy in the locked position until the new service starts – this will help the plastic return to shape and make it easier to lock.
Food waste collection trial area
A few roads will receive the new service one month early as part of a trial. This will help us ensure everything runs smoothly ahead of the full town-wide launch.
If your household is included in the trial area, you will be contacted directly with further details.
