New food waste collection service

We will begin a new, separate, weekly food waste collection service from 2 March 2026.

Container delivery schedule

To prepare for the launch, we will deliver food waste containers to all households during January and February 2026.

Please do not place your food waste containers out for collection before your first collection week, starting 2 March 2026.

If you have not received your food waste containers you can report it to us. Please note, if we have not completed deliveries in your area yet, you will not be able to make a report.

What you will receive

Each household will receive two food waste containers:

• 5L Indoor Kitchen Caddy
  For collecting food waste inside your home.
• 23L Outdoor Caddy
  Transfer your indoor caddy waste into this larger bin. It will be emptied weekly by our collection crews.

Flats that currently have shared communal bins for refuse and recycling, will receive a shared wheeled bin for food waste. All flats will receive an individual kitchen caddy.

Food waste collection trial area

A few roads will receive the new service one month early as part of a trial. This will help us ensure everything runs smoothly ahead of the full town-wide launch.
