Event Island Community Grant - Guidance Notes
Eligibility
To access the Event Island Community Grant, your event must meet one of the following Event Island ambitions:
- Help local people to achieve their potential, by providing support to them at all stages.
- Enhance the places and the fabric of Stevenage that matters the most to local residents.
- Bring people together to construct strong relationships within communities throughout Stevenage.
- Support people, communities and organisations grappling with heightened demands and challenges stemming from the cost-of-living crisis.
Your group must have a bank account that we can pay the grant into. Individuals cannot be funded, and payments have to go to an organisation. Retrospective applications cannot be accepted. The fund cannot be used to apply for events that have already taken place.
The grant cannot be used for anything that is illegal or contrary to Stevenage Borough Council’s Community Safety Policies.
To apply you will need:
- The organisation bank account details (The organisation applying must have a bank account associated to the organisation name with a minimum of two signatories).
- A valid email address.
- Project details.
Please note, in accepting the Event Island Community Grant, Stevenage Borough Council require you to operate in accordance with current legislation. This includes Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Financial regulations. You are required to spend your grant in line with your application. Stevenage Borough Council encourages collaborative working, and all events should be designed to maximise the positive impact on local communities and economies, whilst reducing the negative impact on the environment. Stevenage Borough Council asks that consideration is given to sustainability factors when organising an event.
