Sports Facility Assessment and Strategy

The Sports Facility Assessment and Strategy covers the period 2025 – 2031. It was produced to help the council plan for indoor and outdoor sport, both in the immediate future and longer term until 2031.

The Sports Facility Assessment and Strategy effectively replaces the 2014 Nortoft study documents.

The documents consist of a Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sport Strategy (PPOSS), an Indoor Sport Strategy and Needs Assessment. Within planning, these are to be used as evidence documents to assist with the Local Plan and Section 106 (s106) contributions. The documents are also an important strategy for the Leisure and Green Spaces teams, that have contributed to the development of these updates.

The strategy describes current supply and future demand for facility provision over the next six years. It builds on a clear evidence base and makes recommendations for future development and / or consolidation.
