Stevenage Borough Council has gone live on the National Parking Platform (NPP), giving drivers more choice over how they pay for parking.

The platform is designed to remove the frustration of having to download multiple parking apps. Drivers can now use popular apps such as Ringo, JustPark and the council’s existing provider, PayByPhone, to pay for on-street parking. This means residents and visitors can use the app they already have, rather than downloading a new one when they arrive. Motorists can simply enter the location code as normal in their preferred app.

Town Centre

Stevenage has on-street pay and display for driver’s convenience in locations around the town centre, including Danestrete, Marshgate, Southgate, The Quadrant, Swingate, and behind Westgate.

These are chargeable Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm and free at other times including Sundays. Vehicles displaying a blue badge can park in these bays for free, for as long as they need.

Lister Hospital

Pay and display parking is also provided in Corey's Mill Lane and North Road, near to the Hospital. This has been put in place to encourage drivers not to stay for longer than they need so that it’s easier for others to find a space as there is a lot of demand for parking here.

The longest you can park for is three hours, if you need to stay longer there is a pay-on-foot car park in the Hospital.

Disabled drivers can park in the on-street pay and display bays for free, for as long as they need.
