Stevenage Borough Council has today launched its services on the National Parking Platform (NPP), supporting a more connected and user-friendly parking experience across the town.

The National Parking Platform enables local authorities to offer clearer parking information and flexible payment options through an open, interoperable digital platform.

By joining the NPP, Stevenage Borough Council is taking a positive step towards modernising its parking services and supporting future innovation.

Councillor Loraine Rossati, Portfolio Holder for Economy, Skills and Transport said: “The National Parking Platform helps make parking simpler and more convenient for our residents and visitors and gives us a strong foundation for smarter parking services in the future. For drivers in Stevenage, this means a more user-friendly experience, the freedom to use the parking app of your choice, easier payments with clearer instructions, and better access to parking information anytime, anywhere.”

Drivers can now access parking information, pay for parking, and manage their parking online or via mobile using services connected through the NPP as well as paying by contactless and cash at ticket machines too.

“Welcoming Stevenage Borough Council to the National Parking Platform (NPP) is an important milestone. Their coordinated approach shows real leadership and demonstrates how local authorities can work together to deliver more open, consistent and driver focused parking services. We’re delighted to be supporting them as part of the growing NPP community.” Sarah Randall, National Parking Platform.
