Stevenage Day returns for Stevenage 80 celebration
Stevenage Day, the largest free event in Hertfordshire, will return to King George V Playing Fields on Sunday 14 June, promising a bigger and better celebration as part of Stevenage 80 – marking 80 years since the town was designated as the UK’s first New Town.

With an estimated attendance exceeding 30,000 people, Stevenage Day continues to be one of the region’s most anticipated community events, bringing residents and visitors together for a day packed with entertainment, activities and celebration.
This year’s event will once again feature a dedicated STEM Village, showcasing the innovation and discovery that has long been part of Stevenage’s identity. The interactive zone will offer hands-on activities and demonstrations designed to inspire curiosity and highlight the town’s leadership in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The popular Pride area will return, providing a welcoming and inclusive space featuring live performances and a variety of organisations celebrating Stevenage’s diverse community.
Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of free family-friendly activities, alongside the main performance arena, funfair rides, food court, licensed bars, and the ever-popular Rock in the Park.
Rock in the Park, supported by The Practice Roomz, will once again deliver an electrifying atmosphere with twin stages showcasing local music talent throughout the day for everyone to enjoy.
Councillor Nazmin Chowdhury, Mayor of Stevenage, said:
“Stevenage Day is a much-loved tradition, and I am delighted to see it return as part of our Stevenage 80 celebrations. This year’s event will showcase the innovation, creativity and community spirit that make our town so special.
“With the return of Pride, Rock in the Park, the STEM Village and a fantastic range of family activities, there truly is something for everyone. I encourage residents and visitors alike to join us on 14 June for what promises to be a fantastic day celebrating our community.”

Everyone Active returns as headline sponsor for Stevenage Day, reinforcing its commitment to supporting health and wellbeing in the town. Visitors will be able to meet the team on the day and learn more about the wide range of activities and services available locally.
Mark Leahy, Regional Contract Manager at Everyone Active, said:
“Everyone Active is delighted to once again sponsor Stevenage Day, a highlight of the town’s calendar that brings the community together for a day of fun, entertainment and celebration.
“Connecting with others is a vital part of our wellbeing – spending time together strengthens our community and supports positive mental health. We look forward to seeing everyone there and joining in the celebrations.”
More than 200 stalls will line the event site, featuring specialist food vendors, charities, voluntary organisations and local businesses, providing opportunities for visitors to discover local services and support community groups.
Stevenage Day promises to be an unforgettable celebration, bringing the community together as part of the town’s Stevenage 80 anniversary year.
