Public Notice - Revocation-Variation of Taxi rank in Stevenage High Street
Stevenage Borough Council is consulting on the proposed revocation and variation of two taxi ranks on High Street, Stevenage, under Section 63 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976.
The changes are part of ongoing works proposed by Hertfordshire County Council to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and accessibility in the High Street.
The northbound taxi rank will be extended from 35 metres to 54 metres, while the southbound rank will be removed to allow for the installation of new zebra crossings and other safety improvements.
Operating hours for the northbound rank will be extended, and the rank will be available for general parking during the day.
New signage will be installed to clearly indicate the revised arrangements.
