Residents are being invited to share their views on their local parks. Drop in or complete the survey before 15 September.

Stevenage Borough Council is holding drop-in sessions throughout July and August for residents to attend and share their thoughts on their local park, and what they’d like to see from them in the future. The information gathered will help the council to develop an action plan for each of our main parks. The action plans will set the priorities that we will seek to achieve over the next ten years and will help identify what resources are required.

The following drop-in sessions are taking place:

King George V Playing Fields, Town Centre Gardens and Meadway Playing Fields
Tuesday 6 August, 1pm - 4pm at the Visitor Centre, Stevenage town centre

Peartree Park and Ridlins End Playing Fields
Wednesday 14 August, 1pm - 4pm and 4:30pm - 7pm at Stevenage Credit Union, The Hyde

Chells Park and Hampson Park
Tuesday 20 August, 3:30pm - 6:45pm at Hampson Park Community Centre

Shephalbury Park
Thursday 22 August, 4pm - 7pm at Stevenage Credit Union, The Hyde

St Nicholas Park and Canterbury Way Playing Fields
Thursday 29 August, 4pm - 7pm at St Nicholas Community Centre

Fairlands Valley Park
Wednesday 4 September, 3:30pm - 6:45pm at Fairlands Valley Activity Centre.

An online survey is also available to complete until Sunday 15 September.

A council spokesperson said:

“Parks and green spaces are important for our physical and mental health and wellbeing, and we want to ensure that residents are getting the most out of them now and in the future.

“Please come along to our pop-in event to discuss your local park, even if you aren’t an avid user, as we want to hear from as many people as possible to help shape our parks for generations to come.

“If you can’t make it to an in-person event, then please do fill in our survey to share your views.”
