This years' service takes place at 10.30am on Sunday 9 November at the Old Town Bowling Green. Stevenage Indoor Market Grand Reopening Celebration – 22 November 10.30am – 3pm

There’s even more excitement this November as the long-awaited move of the Stevenage Indoor Market comes to fruition. The current market will trade for the final time on 8 November, before traders move into their brand-new, warm and welcoming location at Boston House, Park Place, opening its doors on 20 November.

To mark this new chapter, everyone is invited to a Grand Reopening Celebration, which will take place on Saturday 22 November, from 10.30am – 3pm. Expect free street food tasters, live entertainment, Bucks Fizz and mince pies, plus the chance to meet special guest Levi Roots, and Father Christmas too. With fun for all the family, it’s the perfect way to celebrate a new era for the market and support our fantastic local traders.

Alongside the grand reopening of the Stevenage Indoor Market, the festive fun continues later in the day, as the town centre comes alive for the Christmas Lights Switch-On. Thank you to this year’s headline sponsor, Tollers Solicitors and our supporting sponsors Redrow Development.

Calling all local businesses - Sponsor a bauble today!

It’s the final chance for local businesses to grab one of the town centre tree Christmas baubles. Thanks to the generosity of award-winning housebuilder, The Hill Group, who have donated 99 baubles, local businesses now have the chance to leave their mark on this year’s celebrations. Businesses can encourage their workforce ‘elves’ to add some sparkle and pizazz, showcasing their festive creativity – and getting their name up in lights on the town’s showpiece Christmas tree. Councillor Simon Speller, Executive Member for Culture, Leisure and Wellbeing at Stevenage Borough Council said:

“Our festive programme is a wonderful celebration of everything that makes Stevenage special – community, creativity and coming together. Whether you’re watching the fireworks, paying your respects on Remembrance Sunday, or dancing to members of So Solid Crew, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this winter.

“I’d encourage everyone to pop along to the new Indoor Market, meet the traders, see what they have to offer and support the local economy of Stevenage at this fantastic new location.”
