This Christmas, the Stevenage Town Centre Partnership is inviting local businesses and organisations to help light up the season by sponsoring a giant bauble on the town centre Christmas tree.

For just £20 per bauble, businesses can take part in this unique festive project that not only brings some extra sparkle to the heart of Stevenage but also supports a brilliant local cause – the Stevenage Community Trust.

Thanks to the generosity of award-winning housebuilder, The Hill Group, who have donated 99 baubles, local businesses now have the chance to leave their mark on this year’s celebrations. It’s a great opportunity to get workforce creativity flowing, as businesses will hand-decorate their bauble ahead of the Christmas festivities.

A spokesperson for Stevenage Borough Council, said: “This is a wonderful way to bring our community and local businesses together. Not only will the tree look spectacular, but every bauble sold will help support people in need through the Stevenage Community Trust. It’s a small gesture that will help to make a big difference.”

Rebecca Littler, Group Sales and Marketing Director at The Hill Group added: “We are looking forward to seeing the creations on the town centre tree as part of this project. Christmas is a time for giving and this bauble initiative is a great way for local businesses to have fun, while supporting a worthy charity which impacts many lives within the community of Stevenage.”

Support is available from Junction 7 Creatives, who are offering fun drop-in sessions to help make every decoration shine as brightly as possible.

If you’re looking for some inspiration from some crafty elves, drop in to see them on:

  • Tuesday 28 October, from 11am until 2pm
  • Friday 31 October from 12noon until 4pm

To reserve your space on the tree, please email The Town Centre Management Team with the number of baubles you’d like to reserve. The team will then be in touch to arrange a drop-off location and time. Baubles need to be returned to our town centre team by 10 November, so there’s plenty of time to get into the festive decorating spirit!

Sharon Brown, Chair of Stevenage Community Trust said: “On behalf of everyone at Stevenage Community Trust I would like to express our thanks to the Stevenage Town Centre Business Partnership, together with The Hill Group, for setting up this fantastic project. Christmas is such a special time to bring people together, and the money raised from this idea will be delivered back into the community via our Christmas Gift Card scheme. We aim to ensure all local children get to enjoy the Christmas experience, and to ease the stress and worry that so many parents face at this time of year by providing the family with a Gift Card to cover food, presents and whatever else they require. I would encourage local businesses to buy their baubles quickly, as I am sure they will sell out very soon!”

Together, let’s make Stevenage sparkle this Christmas, with only 99 baubles available, secure your place on the tree now!
