Beryl Bikes and vandalism
Beryl Bikes are back! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the thousands of e-bike journeys made across the town since the scheme’s launch last October. You’ve been having a wheely good time.
Unfortunately, some people are vandalising the bikes, and this is unacceptable. We are working with the police to investigate this anti-social behaviour. This is your scheme and it’s a great initiative for everyone in Stevenage to use.
We want to keep this programme going because it’s an alternative way for people to travel. Please do not ruin this for those who use the e-bikes. There have been over 32,000 e-bike rides so far, so let’s work together to help protect your scheme.
What should you do if you witness criminal damage or theft of a Beryl Bike? Please report it to the police:
- Call 101 or report directly to the police online via the Herts Police website if you come across a vandalised bike or are aware of anti-social behaviour affecting the scheme.
- Call 999 to contact the police immediately if you witness bike vandalism in progress.
