Firework display

Stevenage’s Annual Fireworks Display returns this November and, as the town celebrates Stevenage 80, this year’s event is another opportunity for residents, families and friends to come together and celebrate our town.

The free event will take place at:

• Fairlands Valley Park
• Thursday 5 November 2026
• Gates opening at 6:30pm.
• Display starts 7:30pm

There will be a variety of hot food and refreshment vendors available throughout the evening – perfect for keeping warm on a chilly November night.

The fireworks display will begin at 7:30pm sharp, so please arrive in plenty of time to find a good viewing spot.

Funded and organised by Stevenage Borough Council, the annual display always attracts large crowds. Visitors are encouraged to walk or use public transport wherever possible.

Parking

If you do need to drive, parking will be available at the South Field Car Park (opposite Stevenage FC stadium) and in Stevenage town centre car parks.

Please avoid parking on residential streets and be considerate of local residents when travelling to and from the event.

Accessible parking only

Parking at Marriotts School (Main Entrance, Brittain Way, SG2 8BL) is available only for visitors who require accessible parking for the Fairlands Fireworks Display. It is not a public event car park. Spaces are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Marriotts Sports Centre Car Park (Telford Avenue) will be closed to the public. Any vehicles parked on double yellow lines or grass verges risk being towed away.

Staying safe

For health and safety reasons, visitors are asked not to bring their own fireworks or sparklers to the event. We also advise visitors not to buy items from street traders or hawkers at the event, as they have not been accredited by Stevenage Borough Council.

Please do not cross Six Hills Way, which is a high-speed road. Pedestrian underpasses are available, and security stewards will be on hand to direct visitors safely to them.

Celebrate Stevenage 80

As Stevenage marks its 80th anniversary, this year’s fireworks display offers another chance for the community to come together and celebrate this special milestone.

This year’s display is supplied by Fantastic Fireworks, so wrap up warm, bring your family and friends and get ready for a spectacular fireworks extravaganza as we celebrate 80 years of Stevenage!
