We are consulting on a proposed amendment to current street trading designations as detail below:

1. Prohibited Street changing to Consent Street

High Street – High Street, from the roundabout between Ireton Court and Letchmore Road, northwards to the junction with James Way. The land in front of 33, 35 & 35a High Street is also included.

Please note that street trading within this area will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances which are outlined in Appendix 1 and can be viewed by downloading the document below. Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

2. Removal of an existing Consent Street

The Town Centre outdoor market site to the north-west of Town Square is proposed to be removed from the list of Consent Streets due to the redevelopment of the site.

Detailed plans showing the extent of the proposed amendments and the list of designated streets are available for inspection at the Council Offices. For further information, please contact the Licensing Team by email at licensing@stevenage.gov.uk

The final decision on whether to pass the proposed resolution will be made by Stevenage Borough Council on 8 December 2026, having considered any representations received.

Any person wishing to make representations regarding the proposed resolution should do so in writing. Representations must be received by the Council no later than 24 November 2026 and should be sent to the licensing team using the email address above.
