Waiting List

We are currently experiencing a high demand for allotments with over 600 people on the waiting list. If you decide to apply for an allotment, you will be automatically placed on the waiting list for the site you have chosen. You may need to be prepared for a long wait as it will be dependent on plots becoming vacant.

What happens after I apply?

Vacant plots are offered to those on the top of the waiting list first. We will contact you to let you know when a plot becomes available to view. Once you have viewed and confirmed acceptance of the plot, we will send you an allotment agreement to sign and return, along with the invoice for the rent. Upon payment and return, we will then issue you with the key so you can get started.

If at any point you no longer wish to take on an allotment, please let us know as soon as you can so we can remove you from the waiting list.

Clearing a plot

When tenants take on a new plot, it may be after a lengthy process which can mean that plot has been left unworked for number months and could be very overgrown. So be prepared for some initial hard work clearing the plot.

You must let us know before accepting your tenancy about any waste on the plot. We may be able to remove some items of non-organic waste if necessary by prior agreement, but the decision to do this is made on a case by case basis. When clearing your plot it might be that you unearth a lot of waste. In some cases, we might deem it as an unreasonable amount for you to clear, and a decision is made on a case by case basis.

Allotment Garden provide information and advice on clearing an allotment.
