Pay your Garage Rent
You will need your Garage account number to pay online.
Payments can also be made at any Post Office using a payment card issued by us at the start of the garage licence or using our automated telephone payments system on 01438 242345.
Garage rent payment options
Garage rental charges can be paid monthly (one month in advance) by Direct Debit - this is our preferred payment method.
Payments are due on the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of each month.
The easiest way to set up a Direct Debit for your garage rent is through Housing Online just log in and select the 'My Account' tab.
If you are unable to set up your Direct Debit online you can download a Direct Debit Mandate, or contact us on 01438 242122.
If your direct debit is returned by your bank unpaid for 3 consecutive months your direct debit will be automatically cancelled by the council and you will need to make payments using an alternative payment method.
If you're in rent arrears
Most arrears cases can be dealt with if the licensee makes early contact with us.
We have a duty to recover all rent owed to us and are required to maintain overall levels of outstanding rent.
If a repossessed garage contain goods, the licensee will be asked to remove them. Should we have to clear the garage; the arrears, cost of the clearance and the cost of a lock change (if required), will be charged to the former licensee.
Unlike houses and flats, we do not have to apply to courts for a Possession Order.
