Keeping our town clean

We work hard to keep our streets and public places clean. This includes;

• picking up litter in town centres every day,
• sweeping roads regularly with mechanical sweepers,
• removing rubbish from public land,
• emptying litter and dog waste bins at least once a week, and
• helping with clean-up events in the local area.

How you can help

You can help keep our town clean by;

• always putting your litter and chewing gum in the bin,
• using recycling bins when you can,
• making sure your business has a proper waste collection service,
• picking up after your dog, and
• not putting up posters or stickers in public places (this is called fly-posting and it’s illegal).

We clean all public roads regularly, but sometimes we may need to change the schedule depending on what’s happening in the area.
