Litter can be anything from a sweet wrapper to a whole bag of rubbish. It makes our streets look messy, can be dangerous for people and animals, and it's against the law to drop it.

If someone is caught littering, they might have to pay a fine of £75. If it goes to court, the fine could be as much as £2,500.

To help keep Stevenage clean, litter bins are placed all around town. These bins are emptied at least once a week, and even more often in busy places like parks and shopping areas.

If you see a broken bin or think a new one is needed somewhere, you can report it online.
