Yellow warning of rain and wind

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for tonight going through to Thursday that there could be gusting wind and heavy rain which may lead to disruption and flooding in some places.

See our severe weather page to see what you should do in an emergency

Litter ranges in size from a single sweet wrapper to a bag full of rubbish.

Litter in a public place is unsightly, unsafe and unpleasant, dangerous to animals and pedestrians, and dropping it is an offence.

Our Environmental Enforcement Officers can issue a fixed penalty notice of £75 to those caught littering. A fine of up to £2,500 can be issued by a court on conviction of a littering offence.

Litter bins are provided across the whole of Stevenage. Each bin is emptied at least once a fortnight and more often where there is a high volume of pedestrian traffic.

You can report an issue with a litter bin online.
