Is the electoral register information for your property correct?

We need to make sure that our electoral register records are correct. Being registered to vote gives you the right to participate at elections and could improve your credit rating.

During February we are sending letters to all properties in the Borough of Stevenage to confirm electoral registration details.

These letters also include details of the polling station for the property where in person electors will need to go and cast their vote, and also details on how you can apply to vote by post or proxy (someone to vote on your behalf).

What to do now?

If all of the information is correct on your letter, you do not need to do anything.

If someone is not included in the letter visit the gov.uk website to apply to register.

If any information is incorrect, contact the helpline on 01438 242213 or alternatively you can email electoral@stevenage.gov.uk, or write to the address below:

Electoral Registration Officer, Stevenage Borough Council, Corporate Services and Transformation, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, SG1 1HN

We are reviewing arrangements for the elections on 6 May 2021 very carefully and in accordance with associated guidance to ensure that voters are safe and able to cast their vote. To keep yourself and others safe on polling day, please:

  • wear a face covering inside the polling station
  • sanitise your hands using the hand sanitiser provided
  • maintain social distancing at all times
  • bring your own pen or pencil to mark your ballot paper, if possible.
