We have a brand-new online process to make managing your business waste easier than ever, businesses are now able to do much more online.

Whether you are an existing waste trade customer or signing up for the first time, the new platform makes it quicker and easier to manage your account. You will have more control over your service, without the need for phone calls or lengthy paperwork. The process has been designed to support busy business owners, offering flexibility and clear information at every step. The new process is designed to work on computers, laptops, tablets, and phones.

Right now, over 500 businesses trust Stevenage Borough Council to handle their waste. After listening to feedback, we’ve made the leap to digital to make things even better. Our waste services will still be reliable, cost-effective, and tailored to your needs.

Legislation is changing. Since April 2025 businesses with 10 or more FTEs are required to dispose of their food waste separately and use a registered waste service. From 31 March 2027, all business will need to comply with this legislation change. Please include your food waste requirement when enquiring.

Seeing your waste off safely - The law

Legally, all businesses must take reasonable steps to keep waste stored safely so that it’s not harmful to people or the environment.

It must be disposed of either by a local authority or a licensed waste collection company.
