Appeal our assessment of your application

If you think we have made a mistake when assessing your Housing Benefit and/or your Council Tax Support application, you can ask us to look at your application again.

Housing Benefit appeals can be made at any time within one month of the date of the notification letter or the date of the new decision.

Council Tax appeals can be made at any time.

These are the steps you can take:

  • Ask us to explain our decision.
  • If you think our decision is wrong, you can ask us to look at it again; called a 'revision'.
  • Ask for an independent tribunal to look at our decision.
