Launched in December 2025, our Digital Strategy for 2025–2028 sets out how we will use digital technology to make Stevenage even better for everyone - improving services, strengthening inclusion, and ensuring we are ready for the future. It is shaped by our Making Stevenage Even Better Corporate Plan 2024–2027, national digital frameworks, and insight from residents, staff and partners.

Digitisation is central to how we deliver efficient, inclusive and customer-focused services. We want every interaction with the Council to be simple, intuitive and accessible, whether online or in person. By improving digital services for the majority, we can make it quicker and easier to get things done, support our staff with better tools and skills, and free up capacity to provide additional support for those whose needs cannot be fully met through digital channels.

This strategy comes at a pivotal time for local government. As national reforms reshape how councils work, Stevenage is committed to being adaptable, collaborative and resilient. We are investing in modern digital solutions—such as improved self-service, automation, intelligent telephony and AI-powered tools—while maintaining a strong focus on digital inclusion, so that everyone can benefit.

Our approach is collaborative and evidence-led. We listen, test new ideas and continually improve based on real feedback. By working together with our communities and partners, we will deliver digital services that are secure, reliable and future-ready, supporting a stronger Stevenage for years to come.
