Stevenage Works
Stevenage Works is a job and training hub comprising a vast range of partners located within Stevenage and is managed by Stevenage Borough Council.
Local is everything to us and by working in partnership with others we aim to raise awareness of the local jobs available in local businesses to local people.
Stevenage Works was initially launched in 2019. Working in partnership with The Job Centre Plus (JCP), we offer a free recruitment service.
Together with The JCP we attend local job fairs, these a great way to find out more about the businesses in the area, along with any roles they have on offer.
North Herts College work closely with us too and, in doing so, we are able to provide training courses to support our residents in the Stevenage area. This helps you to secure roles, as well as ensuring we’re continuously increasing the talent available too.
Apprenticeships are a top priority and it’s essential to understand the importance of gaining vocational qualifications in order to stand out from the crowd when applying for a new job.
We have also worked alongside:
- Oaklands College.
- TrAC - A non-profit Shared Apprenticeship Service delivering Flexi Job Apprenticeships
- Herts Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) - one of 38 Local Enterprise Partnerships across the country tasked by Government to accelerate economic growth.
So far we have provided:
- 33 CSCS courses
- 221 course participants
- 132 site ready candidates
- 33 jobs in construction
