Co-operative Youth Work Fund
The Co-operative Youth Work Fund is managed by our Community Development team who will provide up to £500.
Objectives of the fund
Funding will be provided for projects that:
- aim to challenge and explore crime and/or perceptions of crime among young people, including young people as victims of crime and criminal behaviour;
- aim to build and celebrate diversity and inclusion among young people whereby bringing together young people from BME, disability, LGBT+ and faith backgrounds to share and learn from each other;
- promote young people as community leaders and organisers in their local neighbourhoods, helping to build stronger cooperative communities; and
- promote ecology and environmental learning and action.
Please note that funding will only be offered to charities and voluntary organisations with an annual turnover of less than £500k.
Deadlines for submissions to Stevenage Youth Council are open from 1 June to 1 March each year, and are reviewed bi-monthly for decision making. Your application will be independently assessed by the Stevenage Youth Council.
Commitment to safeguarding
Applicants will be asked to provide details of safeguarding policies and practices, alongside accounts, volunteering and equality information. We reserve the right to also check the charities/CIO/CICs history via the Charity Commission and Companies House. Grants will only be given where policies and practice meet national standards in youth work delivery.
We retain the right to refuse applications that do not meet our strict safeguarding and best practice standards.
