Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Policy Consultation

The Environmental Health & Licensing Team of Stevenage Borough Council licence persons and vehicles involved in private hire and hackney carriage businesses in accordance with the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 and Town Police Clauses Act 1847.

We are consulting on our draft policy for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire drivers, vehicles and operators.

The draft policy is open for consultation until 14 November 2023.

The draft policy updates the previous policies in this matter to ensure licence holders are fit and proper and public safety is maintained to users and the wider community.
