Affordable Housing
Help to Buy
Help to Buy is a government scheme designed to help people get onto the property ladder.
Social rented housing in Stevenage is in increasingly high demand and short supply, but there are now a number of affordable housing options available to local people who wish to buy a property but cannot buy on the open market because, for example, they are unable to save for a large deposit.
Help to buy is operated by different agencies in different parts of the country. The Help to buy agent for the East and South East Region, which includes Hertfordshire, is Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association.
The available Help to buy options vary from time to time and from area to area, so for up to date information on what is currently available in and around Stevenage please search the Help to Buy East and South East website, call 03333 214044 or email using, helptobuyeastandsoutheast@bpha.org.uk.
The Housing Advice Service is open on weekdays between 8.45am and 5.15pm (4.45pm on Fridays).
