Affordable Housing
Help to Buy
Help to Buy is a government scheme designed to help people get onto the property ladder.
Social rented housing in Stevenage is in increasingly high demand and short supply, but there are now a number of affordable housing options available to local people who wish to buy a property but cannot buy on the open market because, for example, they are unable to save for a large deposit.
Information about the Help to Buy scheme can be found on the Own Your Home website where you will find an overview of the scheme, answers to frequently asked questions and guidance on how to apply.
The Help to buy agent for the East and South East Region, which includes Hertfordshire, is Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association.
The available Help to buy options vary from time to time and from area to area, so for up-to-date information on what is currently available in and around Stevenage please search the Help to Buy website, call 0800 456 1188 or email using, info@helptobuyagent3.org.uk.
The Housing Advice Service is open on weekdays between 8:45am and 5:15pm (4:45pm on Fridays).
