Responses to Freedom of Information Requests (FOIs), Environmental Information Regulation requests (EIRs) and Subject Access Requests (SARs) are likely to be delayed due to the current COVID-19 implications. The Information Commissioner’s Office has advised that although they cannot extend statutory timescales, they will inform people that they may experience delays when making FOIs, EIRs or SARs to organisations during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Whilst your statutory right of access remains unchanged, our resources may be diverted away from standard compliance with information rights to focus on essential services. Therefore, we ask that where possible, before submitting any requests for information please first check our website as information may already be published and available. As the national guidance requires people to work from home wherever possible, if you wish to make a request for information, please submit a request online or via email instead of using post as letters will not be collected from the Council offices.
