Bus Shelters

The Council is responsible for the provision and maintenance of bus shelters.

The Council is responsible for the provision and maintenance of bus shelters, however the provision of new bus stops, bus stop signs and timetable displays are the responsibility of Hertfordshire County Council.

Bus shelters

In Stevenage, all the newer (open fronted) bus shelters have been provided by a specialist advertising firm called Adshel in return for being given the right to display advertising material on certain shelters situated at prime locations. Furthermore, Adshel are responsible for cleaning and maintaining all of the old and new shelters in Stevenage.

The Council will consider any requests received for new bus shelters.  The provision of a new shelter is dependant on the necessary finance being available.  Priority will be given to those locations where usage of the bus stop for departures is relatively high.
