How to Apply
Applications for carriage crossings to permit vehicles to cross over the public footway can be made to the Council by Stevenage residents.
The Council carries out this work on behalf of the Highway Authority, Hertfordshire County Council, under a Highways Agency Agreement, which requires the Council to comply with the highway design standards and specifications prescribed by them.
The service provided by Stevenage Borough Council relates only to carriage crossings over the footway and not to dropped kerbs for pedestrian access.
