Community Strategy
Stevenage 2021: Our Town, Our Future
So Stevenage has finalised its second sustainable community strategy - Stevenage 2021: Our Town, Our Future. It is an important part of improving the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents and builds upon the good work of the previous community strategy.
It has been developed over several months and is the culmination of a great deal of work by partners across Stevenage to identify and address the key challenges faced by the town both now and in the future. This work was based upon extensive consultation with local people about their priorities as well as analysis of evidence. The strategy is divided along the four current LAA themes, Children and Young People, Healthy Communities and Older People, Safer and Stronger Communities and Economy, Enterprise and Environment and sets out long term objectives for what we want to achieve with each by 2021. Beneath these are a series of short term but challenging targets, to be delivered between now and 2010 which are an important step in delivering our long term vision for a better Stevenage in 2021. These also contribute to the delivery of LAA targets including a number of stretch targets.
