Anti-social Behaviour - minimum standards
Herts Police, Stevenage Borough Council, Herts Fire & Rescue, Stevenage Homes, the Health Service, Hertfordshire Probation, Hertfordshire Police Authority and other partners are all working together to make Stevenage a safer place.
We are working to reduce antisocial behaviour (ASB) to keep your neighbourhoods safe. These minimum standards show what you can expect from us as we tackle ASB.
- We will work to reduce ASB. (Antisocial Behaviour covers a wide range of issues that disturb the quality of life of those affected. Some examples are noisy or inconsiderate behaviour, nuisance neighbours, vandalism, graffiti or inconsiderate use of vehicles.)
- We will work to make you feel safer in your neighbourhood by providing regular information on what action is being taken to tackle ASB. You will find information in SoSafe newsletters, at Street Meets and in Chronicle and Housing for You magazines.
- We will take reported cases of ASB seriously; recording, investigating and keeping victims informed of action taken.
- We will offer support, advice and practical help to victims and witnesses of ASB.
- We will ensure effective links are in place between Stevenage Borough Council, local policing teams, Stevenage Homes and other partners who tackle ASB to ensure swift action is taken.
- We welcome all feedback on how ASB is tackled. If you think we could be doing more about ASB or would like to give us any other feedback, please phone 01438 242 242 and ask for community safety. You can also raise concerns at our annual SoSafe Forum. Look out for details on the Stevenage Borough Council website.
