Priorities

Each year the Stevenage Community Safety Partnership sets itself  targets. These are based on what concerns you the most, together with the recorded figures for crime and offences in the town. These form part of a three year ‘rolling plan’ which is updated every year using specific themed action plans which cover a wide range of topics.

When we last got your views you told us about the seven things which concerned you the most.

  1. Reducing serious violence and violent crime
  2. Reducing anti-social behaviour
  3. Tackle drug and alcohol related crime
  4. Improve feelings of safety, especially at night
  5. Reduce robbery, burglary and vehicle crime
  6. Reduce Criminal Damage
  7. Reduce re-offending.

These now form the key strands of our action plans and strategies for the next twelve months and we will be working to address your concerns and worries over these topics.

Each of the action plans relating to these topics sets defined and achievable goals to the various agencies of the partnership. For example we would aim to continue the ongoing reduction in violent crime over the next year and would aim for a higher percentage of you feeling safer at night than when we last asked you.

We aim to continue the current reductions in anti-social behaviour, malicious damage and the use and sale of street drugs.

We also plan to target car crime, robbery and burglary to ensure the reported figures for these offences remains at their present low levels.

All these targets join together to form the main priority of the Community Safety Partnership, which is make sure that Stevenage remains a safe place to live, work and socialise.
