Pride of Stevenage Awards Winners

Stevenage is full of Pride!

The Pride of Stevenage Awards are a thank-you to those people and organisations who work hard to make Stevenage a great place to be. This year’s trophies went to a diverse range of groups and individuals covering communities across our town.

Many of you made nominations and a panel of judges selected the final winners.

Sharon Taylor, who chaired the judging panel, said, ‘It may sound cliched but it really was an incredible challenge to choose just one winner in each of the award categories. In fact it was impossible in one of the categories – SoInspiring – so we made a joint award for the first time ever.

‘The nature of recognition schemes like the Pride of Stevenage Awards is that everyone is chosen because they’ve made a special contribution. And in that sense, everyone is a winner in someone’s eyes. ‘

The awards were presented at the Mayor’s Civic Reception on October 17.

Winner: Sheila Kennedy, Pin Green Community Centre

SoSkilled:
Winner: Stevenage Festival
