Funding available for your 60th anniversary events

We are awarding grants of up to £200 to Stevenage people and local organisations celebrating the town’s 60th anniversary.

We will consider applications from Stevenage individuals or groups who are organising events such as street parties, a picnic in the park or a community arts event to celebrate 60 years of Stevenage.

The deadline for all applications is Friday 16 June 2006.

To qualify you must be based in Stevenage and your event must take place in 2006 and no later than 30 November.

Grants are available up to a maximum of £200.  However, please let us know if you have a larger project in mind that would require more than £200.

Write a letter asking for funding and send it to:

‘60th Anniversary Grant’, Member Services, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 1HN or email: themayor@stevenage.gov.uk

You need to include in your letter:

• How much you are applying for
• What your event is
• Where and when your event will take place
• Your name and address and contact details.

Please send us a photograph* of your event along with as much information as possible.  We can then keep a photographic record of the town’s 60th celebrations.

If you don’t apply to the Council you can apply to Stevenage Community Trust as it is awarding grants for community events celebrating Stevenage’s 60th anniversary.

Community centres and Stevenage groups will qualify if they have not applied to Stevenage Borough Council for funding.  Grants are available up to a maximum of £300.
