Join in our debate on 27 January 2009.
Our national identity, sense of where we belong and where we owe our loyalty matters to many people in this country and has been regularly debated throughout history.
The Government is now developing a Statement of Values to help identify what binds us together as a nation. Other democracies have something similar which sets out their unique national identity.
The Government believes it’s time to begin a new discussion for the new times in which we live. The Ministry of Justice will find out what people from across the country think makes us British. It is important you have an opportunity to contribute to the debate.
We will be holding a debate at Daneshill House on 27th January 2009 at 6.30pm. If you would like to be involved contact Jenny Andrews on 01438 242581 or policy@stevenage.gov.uk, or go to http://governance.justice.gov.uk to take part in one of the online discussions.
