Safer and Stronger Communities

The Safer and Stronger Block of the LAA has a specific importance to Stevenage as Peter Ollis, the Chief Executive is the lead officer for the block.

This block has 10 outcomes and 45 targets of these 19 are Stretch Targets. The SSC Block is the largest and one of the most complex blocks of the LAA. This is because it covers a number of themes, including respect in communities, improved feelings of well being and safety, addressing the harm caused by crime and drugs to the community, sustainable waste management, improving parks and open spaces, increasing volunteering and empowering communities.

The 19 stretch targets of the Safer and Stronger Communities Block if achieved, will give £11,000,000 of the £30,000,000 Hertfordshire could receive.

The delivery of the Safer and Stronger Communities Block is over seen by a group made up of the Block Lead and support staff and the individual target leads. The group has been very effective in monitoring target delivery and keeping channels of communication open.
