Stevenage Fairtrade actions
- Fairtrade road signs have been fixed to the 'Welcome to Stevenage' signs at entrances to the Town, near the Railway station and also in the Town Centre.
- A Directory, listing Fairtrade product outlets, and those organisations using Fairtrade products, is being compiled.
- A floral design of the Fairtrade logo is planned for a town centre location next year.
- Links with Ingelheim and Autun are planned - as both our twin towns already support the Initiative.
- Fairtrade County status will soon be under discussion via links with other Fairtrade towns in Hertfordshire
- School projects are proposed with our twin-towns.
There is a need to increase the number of Fairtrade retail outlets in Stevenage - status is granted on a ratio of outlets per head of population - hence the media coverage and mail-out to ensure that all possible outlets and organisations are aware - and can be included.
