Welcome to Springfield House, Old Town

Springfield House, 24 High Street, SG1 3EJ

In the late 1960s the newly formed Old Town Community Association needed accommodation: Springfield House provided the solution.
Former home of the late Jeremiah Inns, the imposing Springfield House fronts on to the High Street near the bowling green*.

DescriptionA key building in the Old Town conservation area.
Red brick two-storey former privately-owned house with large mature garden at rear.
Main hall has timber floors, as have the Oak Lounge and Helen Inns' Room (the latter room is upstairs).
Stevenage Arts Society occupies most of the Centre's upper level, while Stevenage Haven, which supports single homeless people, also has an office at Springfield house.
TransportBus numbers 55 (Arriva, to Franklins Road), 100, 102 and 301 (to the White Lion) from Town Centre.
