Fly Posting

What is fly posting?

Fly posting is the display of advertising material on buildings and street furniture without the consent of the owner occupier. Fly posting is an illegal, anti-social activity that creates a negative impression of an area and contributes to people’s fear of crime.
We are responsible for the removal of illegally posted advertisements, leaflets etc. on council property in the area.

Enforcement Officers who witness fly posting incidents taking place can issue the person carrying out the act a £75.00 Fixed Penalty Notice.
We provide information on how to report instances of unauthorised advertising (fly posting). Fly posting can be removed by arrangement from private property and agreement to meet any service costs.

Who do I report flyposting to?

If you would like any unauthorised advertising removed from public property, private property or street furniture, please contact us.
