Environmental Enforcement Officers from the Council can issue Fixed Penalty Notices for a wide range of offences, including dropping litter, graffiti, failing to clear dog faeces and abandoning vehicles
The fixed penalty tariffs range in cost dependant on the offence of £50 - £200.
Although there is no statutory requirement for Environmental Fixed Penalty Notices to have any form of appeal procedure in place, Stevenage Borough Council operate a process in which you may contest this fine.
If you do not believe you should have to pay this Environmental Fixed Penalty Notice, you must provide your reasons for appeal, in writing, to the Environmental Performance Manager at the address to the right of this page 'Contact details' within 14-days from the date of issue.
In addition, you have the right to have your case heard in a Magistrates’ Court.
