Stevenage Town Centre
Town Centre Regeneration website
Our town was Britain's first new town and planned to an inspirational and robust design. When first built, it was attractive and successful and people were proud to shop here.
In recent years it has attracted quality new investment in retail and leisure such as the West Gate Centre, the Forum and the Plaza. However, there is now an opportunity for major redevelopment to realise the wider potential of the town centre.
The new town centre scheme will offer:
- A range of new shops including a major department store
- Restaurants
- New town centre homes including affordable homes
- A new museum and library
- Improved access and upgraded public spaces
- New civic facilities
- New bus station and town centre car parking.
It will help put Stevenage back on the map as a sub-regional centre to rival other town centres.
It's a very exciting time for Stevenage people as their unique £500 million town centre takes shape.
