Growing the town



As a first generation New Town, the built fabric of Stevenage in now showing its age. This means there are both major regeneration and growth opportunities.

Three urban extensions are being considered to help meet the Borough’s housing needs. These have the potential to deliver around 2,770 new homes. Larger growth could be accommodated outside the Borough boundary in North Hertfordshire.
