As a result of the High Court judgement, the Metropolitan Green Belt in the vicinity of Norton Green has been removed from the district plan proposals map. This change is reflected on the Proposals Map displayed here.

Following the publication of Planning Policy Statement 3, the Borough Council will from the 1st April 2007 seek the provision of affordable dwellings on sites yielding 15 dwellings or more. This is in accordance with the Government's national indicative minimum site threshold. This part of PPS3 is therefore a material consideration that outweighs the affordable housing threshold set out in the adopted District Plan (Policy H13).

Following the Appeal Court decision of the 22 November 2005, the West of Stevenage Consortium have not appealed to the House of Lords and therefore the legal challenge is now at an end. The only amendment to the District Plan Second Review is that which was handed down in the High Court decision on the 20 May 2005.
