View and comment on planning applications

Public Access is an on-line internet service that allows you to view details of planning applications being considered by the Council. Through Public Access you can view details and associated documents for planning applications received by the Council since 1st December 2005. This service runs in 'real time' and is updated continually.

To view current planning application documents on-line, select the planning application details in the Public Access system, and click on the "Associated Documents" tab.

Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications will be able to be viewed within 2 working days of receipt of the application. If none are displayed at the time, you may wish to try a few days later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and associated documents at the Council Offices, Daneshill House, Danestrete, Stevenage during normal office hours.

Commenting on planning applications

If you wish to make a representation, either just to comment or in support or objection to an application for planning permission, you can send them electronically via Public Access, email, or send them in the post, within the three weeks statutory publicity period. The Public Access system runs in 'real time' and is updated continually.

Any representation that is made either electronically or in writing is put on a public file and will be published on the Council's website and statutory planning register, where it will be available for members of the public to view.

Data Protection - Any personal information (e.g. telephone number / e-mail address / signature) included in your representation will be ‘hidden’ prior to publication on the website.

When the planning application details are selected in the Public Access system a button appears in the top right corner "Submit Comments", click on this and follow the instructions. Please note, this only appears for planning applications that are current and fall within the valid publicity period.

If you prefer to make your representations in writing, please quote the application number and clearly explain your objections, comments or support. All comments received are open to public inspection.
