  • Play Areas - Improvements
    Over the next few years Stevenage Borough Council will be investing almost £1.5 million to improve play areas across the town.

  • Pavilions
    Most of our parks have pavilions that are available to hire. All rooms have use of toilet facilities, kitchen, tables and chairs can also be provided.
  • Play areas
    We currently manage around 60 equipped, unsupervised play areas throughout the town.
  • Green space strategy
    During 2005 the Council undertook a comprehensive open space study, in accordance with Government guidance, that would inform the development of Green Space Strategy for Stevenage.

    The council is responsible for maintaining a register of common land and village greens within its boundaries.

    The Town Centre Gardens (3.85ha’s) were developed in the mid-1960’s, and are the primary formal and ornamental public gardens in Stevenage.
