If you receive a PCN

Do not ignore PCN's. They may carry extra penalties if not paid (or contested) promptly.

In order to qualify for a discount the payment must be received within 14 days.

To pay or challenge your PCN you will need the vehicle's registration and the PCN number. The PCN number is located on the front of the PCN, at the top. It starts with letters SG followed by an eight digit code.

PCN's can be paid:

  • Online
  • At the Council's Customer Service Centre, Daneshill House, via the ATM. As no change is given, the correct amount of money must be placed in the envelope.
  • By post to: The Parking Office, PO Box 394, Hertford SG13 9JU.
  • By telephone: call 01279 502100 for credit or debit card payments. You will need to enter the digits from the PCN number, ignoring the letters SG at the start. If the PCN number ends in letter A please enter just the seven preceding digits. Remember to end each entry by pressing the * key. After paying you will be given a payment reference number to use in any future correspondence so it is important that you make a note of it.
